Objectives
The content of this course will be agreed with delegates on the first day of the course.The course will enable the delegate to build the knowledge and skills required to:
1. Use CNC machines safely
2. Use basic CNC terminology
3. Use absolute and incremental programming
4. Use radius compensation programming
5. Work with fixed or canned cycles
6. Define tool geometry
7. Operate control systems including set up and operation of machines
8. Transfer data from computers to machines
Requirements
This course is designed for staff who currently use conventional machines and wish to have an understanding of CNC techniques, or for existing CNC users who may wish to upgrade or certificate their skills.A background in mechanical engineering is required and a basic understanding of machine tool technology would be an advantage.
