Objectives
This course will provide a basic understanding of the techniques and knowledge required to apply hydraulics and pneumatics safely and effectively in the workplace.The course will enable the delegate to build the knowledge and skills to:
1. Explain how oil is pressurised and distributed through a system.
2. Identify the major pieces of equipment used in the application of hydraulics.
3. Identify CETOP symbols.
4. Dismantle the major components of a hydraulic system.
5. Work with pumps, relief valves and directional control valves.
6. Explain how oil is filtered and why.
7. Demonstrate an understanding of the Health & Safety implications of applying hydraulics.
8. Explain how air is compressed, stored and distributed.
9. Identify major pieces of equipment used in the application of pneumatics.
10. Explain the types and construction of - cylinders
- directional control valves
- filters
- lubricators
- flow control valves
11. Control double acting and single acting cylinders.
12. Use speed controls on a circuit.
13. Employ sequential control of 2 or more cylinders.
14. Modify circuits from verbal and written instructions.
15. Identify faults on pneumatic circuits.
Requirements
