What’s Included?

This course includes expert-led, hands-on training delivered in a workshop environment, use of hand fitting tools and equipment, and all required learning materials. Participants complete practical tasks designed to build confidence and accuracy.

Who Should Attend?

This course is ideal for beginners, apprentices, or individuals looking to build practical hand fitting skills for safe and effective work in engineering or maintenance roles. There are no formal entry requirements; however, good manual dexterity is essential, and a basic knowledge of engineering drawings would be an advantage. 

Assessment

  • Assessment is practical and continuous, based on safe working practices, correct tool selection and use, and the successful completion of hand fitting tasks throughout the course.

Please note that this course may be cancelled and rescheduled if no uptake is received up to 14 days prior to the course start date.

A cancellation fee of 30% will be charged for cancellations within 24 hours of the course date. Failure to attend without notice will result in a full charge.

  • Working safely in a workshop environment in line with health and safety legislation

  • Planning hand fitting activities before starting work

  • Selecting, preparing, and checking hand fitting tools and equipment

  • Marking out components and materials using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Cutting and shaping materials to required specifications

  • Measuring and checking dimensional and geometric accuracy

  • Cleaning tools and reinstating the work area after completing fitting activities
