As an Engineering Technician Apprentice, you'll contribute to the maintenance and repairs of various components from both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. This varied and exciting programme covers Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic product groups. As part of your apprenticeship, you will cover various aspects of all these disciplines. You’ll be trained to use a variety of hand and machine tools whilst learning how to identify faults and return equipment to working condition. You’ll be involved in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of components, valves and hydraulic equipment. You could even work on critical rescue hoists used in various air sea rescue platforms. You will be trained in the use of technical data, and the measurement of complex components using various equipment. This will develop your technical skills and competence over the term of your apprenticeship. Aerotron Avotec Ltd is an aircraft component maintenance company working in the civilian and military aviation sectors. Based in Uddingston, the company specialises in the repair and overhaul of Electrical & Mechanical components for the aerospace industry Job purpose Ready to learn a skilled trade? On our 4-year Engineering Trades Apprenticeship, you’ll develop specialist engineering trade skills and gain hands-on experience maintaining aviation components. Education Initial training carried out by an external training centre, developing many of the essential skills needed for the program. A four-year apprenticeship programme where you will achieve vocational qualifications at SCQF level 5 and Level 7 and academic qualification of NC followed by an HNC in a mechanical qualification will be provided by the company. Celeros is committed to the training and development of young engineers through the Modern Apprenticeship program and this year we are looking for six individuals to join our team in Summer 2025 based at both Cathcart and Hillington These positions are for a full Modern Apprenticeship program resulting in the attainment of an SCQF Level 5 , SCQF Level 7 Vocational Qualifications and Academic qualifications NC and HNC in Engineering Discipline. On completion of the program, successful candidates will achieve fully qualified Engineering status. The current Apprenticeships we have to offer are for : Craft Apprentices (CNC Machinists & Mechanical Fitters) Technician Apprentices.
The successful applicant would be expected to hold National 5 grade passes at level C or above in Maths, English, a Science subject (preferably Physics) and a Technical subject, Higher grades would be an advantage. All applicants should be enthusiastic and have a genuine interest in achieving an Apprenticeship with Celeros.

Oil States Industries are looking for 3 Engineering Apprentices for an August 2026 start date. Training & Development • Participate fully in the structured apprenticeship programme, attending training sessions, college courses, and assessments as required. • Develop a practical understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles. • Gain skills in reading engineering drawings, using measuring tools, and operating machinery. • Progress towards independently carrying out simple engineering repairs and tasks. • Build knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and other rotating equipment. • Demonstrate continuous improvement in technical ability, safety awareness, and teamwork.
